What do you get when you mix people with sand, sun and the Holy Spirit?
An awesome Alpha Weekend.
The weekend of March 10-11, sixty two people braved the cabins (yes, the CABINS!) at Camp St. Christopher for the Alpha Weekend Away!
Saturday morning the Chapel of the Palms was the perfect venue for Hamilton to share the good news of the Gospel and to go deeper into Who is the Holy Spirit and what does the Holy Spirit do. After the talks there was lively discussion in the small groups. We broke for lunch and then had free time until dinner.
Some were called to the beach for a reflective walk or to wet their lines. Others headed to Fresh Fields for shopping and still others found their way to Reds for some March Madness.
We returned to the Chapel of the Palms after dinner to find out how to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Again the small groups met and prayer was made available to everyone. Many went for prayer and invited the Holy Spirit into their hearts, some for the first time.
On Sunday after breakfast we made our last trip to the Chapel of the Palms for a simple service and a talk on how to make the most of the rest of our life.
Throughout the weekend Ted and his team of Capers Cauthen and Ardy Rankin, provided worship that spoke to our hearts.
Camp St. Christopher was the perfect backdrop for this powerful weekend. Many thanks to the Alpha team for their hard work and dedication and to the congregation of St. Michael’s for your prayers and support.
