Last February, the GIC made a huge impact on many people in our parish family at St. Michaels.  While some people have decided to serve a meal for the first time at the Crisis Ministries Shelter, others have decided to become involved in the Sticks ‘n Stones ministry on the East side.  Still others are discerning if they should go on the upcoming Ukraine Healing Mission trip in October or the trip to Burundi in January.  Did you know that right now we have 3 young people that are in Burundi?  Walker Marion, Eliza Tew, and Charlotte Morrow left Saturday, May 26th to head across the ocean to spend time with Freddy and Onesphore and the ministries they support in Burundi.  All three girls have just finished their sophomore year in college but felt drawn to spend time with these amazing missionaries that they saw at St. Michaels in February.  Walker will be working with the Onesphore and the Batwa tribe and living with a local Burundian family. Eliza and Charlotte will be working with Freddy at the orphanage.  Walker’s brother, Banks, will also be joining her June 5th, so we will end up with 4 young adults from St. Michaels in Burundi who are loving, learning, and spreading the gospel!   Please keep all of them in your prayers.  Walker, Charlotte, and Banks will return home at the end of June.  Eliza will stay through July.  Please look for updates in the next messenger!
