Festival of Faith Reflections

It was a blessing for me to be a part of the prayer team during our worship service at Festival of Faith Sunday.  My prayer partner and I were blessed to have had the opportunity to pray for many people, and to witness the power of the Holy Spirit moving so profoundly in his people. We could actually see their transformation taking place right before our eyes. The Holy Spirits movement can brings tears of all kinds; joy, sorrow, desperation and gratitude. There is laughter, and a feeling of peace that surpasses all understanding. This is a way the Lord ministers to His people, the people He loves so much. Whenever I doubt the love of the Lord, I go back to John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”  This is a “Church on Fire” as was evident on Sunday, June 12th. Praise God from whom all blessings flow.

My family and I attended Festival of Faith a few weeks ago and we were so blessed to be able to attend a service in the church as a family, as we normally can only attend the 8:45 service.  As it came time for prayer we were honored to be prayed for by John & Patti Sosnowski, my daughter who is 6 did not really want to go up for prayer but she did but paid no attention to what we were doing (or so we thought). When we returned back to our seats my daughter started crying as she realized in praying, that her daddy was leaving after F.O.F. to go away for 3 weeks for job training. She had been told for weeks he was leaving but for some reason it just had hit her. My husband then starting tearing up as did I. Afterwards she picked up the pew Bible and pretended to be reading and praying. Later that afternoon as Steven was leaving she told my husband and I to hold hands and that we should pray for him to have a safe trip and hurry back home to us. I was so blown away that she wanted us to do this. As the prayer ended she looked at her daddy and did the sign of the cross on his forehead just as John Sosnowski had done to us in prayer earlier that day. I am so thankful to belong and to work for such a wonderful group of people here at St. Michael’s Church.

PRAYER MINISTRY DURING FESTIVAL OF FAITH
It was a beautiful and spiritually rich time during the worship service as the 14 teams of prayer ministers and clergy teams were available to pray with people.  Only God knows the blessings that He poured out that day.  It is amazing what God can and will do as we invite Him into the “secret” places of our hearts.  I am thankful the Prayer Ministry is available every Sunday at every worship service.  Thank you, Prayer Ministers, for your faithful call to “Listen, Love, and Pray.”
