GIC Faith Promise

Give to the Faith Promise

St. Michael’s year round pledge for missions. It is a faith commitment to give above and beyond your tithes. Promise only what you believe God wants you to give. Then trust God to faithfully provide what you promised.

What is the GIC?

Global Impact Celebration (GIC) is a celebration of St. Michael’s growing emphasis on responding to Christ’s Great Commission: “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you unto the end of the world.”(Mathew 28: 18-20).

This week in February will be filled with opportunities to learn about what has been accomplished through past mission efforts, as well as many opportunities for St. Michaelites to become more involved in taking the Gospel to the unreached. As Christ said, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)
The GIC week will include great preachers plus missionaries and indigenous leaders from five foreign countries (The Hungering World), two states (The Hurting Coast) and 5 local organizations (The Holy City) in a variety of settings (e.g., services, luncheons, Life Groups, forums) designed to enlighten and inspire us  to become more engaged in mission work locally, nationally, and/or internationally.
If there ever was a time to help people in our city, state, country, and around the world to gain access to Christ’s message of forgiveness, peace, and love, it is surely now. Christ gave us the Great Commission; the Global Impact Celebration will show us how we can help to implement the Great Commission.
On the closing Sunday, you will be asked to make a Faith Promise and/or a Life Commitment. You will receive a card for each. With the Faith Promise card, prayerfully consider the amount you will pledge to the Lord. The results of the year before GIC allowed St. Michael’s to have a powerful year of ministry. The Holy Spirit used St. Michaelites to step out of their comfort zone and spread the message of Jesus Christ to the Holy City, Hurting Coast, and Hungering World. This year’s GIC promises to be even more exciting as we grow and expand our partnerships for outreach.
