Where were you when that fateful day of September 11, 2001, a day we call 9-11? I was dedicating a basketball court in memory of Dr. Bob Nelson at the Charleston Day School. I got in my car to come back to St. Michael’s when I got the news. Rick Belser and I immediately formed our own ‘situation’ room to put together a pastoral response. We also had to figure out, would we have Alpha that night? Not only did we continue with Alpha that evening, we also put together a prayer service. It was an amazing day none of us will forget. Now, 10 years later we will gather with other local churches on Sunday, September 11 to pray. After the 10:30 service, led by the crucifer, we will process out of the Narthex, across Broad Street and into Washington Park for 15 minutes of prayer and song. There will be no coffee hour on this day as we hope everyone will make that effort to extend worship into the park. If you attend another service, please come over to the Park at Noon.
