Nursery

Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. (Proverbs 22:6)

About our Nurseries

Because we have your child’s best interest and faith at heart, it is our goal to provide a clean, loving environment in each of the nurseries at St. Michael’s Church, as well as to provide opportunities for spiritual growth for our children and families.

Our Infant and Toddler Nurseries are open at 8:45 am before the 9:20 am Tool Time Hour and remain open until after the 10:30 am worship service until 1:00 pm. Both nurseries are also open for the 6:00 pm Sunday evening Holy Communion service. The Nurseries are located on the first floor of the Belser Building off the Loggia.

Please read this information carefully and leave your child with us while you enjoy the adult Christian education programs and the worship services.

Infant Nursery. . .  for babies ages 0 to 17 months

This nursery is adequately equipped with cribs, a changing table, baby swings, walkers, and rocking chairs.  Soothing background music helps create a warm, nurturing environment.
Because we understand how difficult it can be to leave a newborn in a new environment, we provide pagers for parents. This creates peace of mind for the parents by enabling them to remain in contact with the Nursery Staff.

Toddler Nursery. . .  for children 18 to 36 months

St. Michael’s provides a warm, Christian environment for toddlers, staffed by experienced Nursery Staff.  Our Nursery Staff lovingly reads Christian stories and plays stimulating music for the children.
The nursery is adequately equipped with a changing table, a variety of safe, age-appropriate toys and a television with VCR for viewing Christian videos.  A mid-morning snack is served to the children.
Children who have turned 3 will be taken to their classroom upstairs after check-in and will do a bible lesson during this time.  See the information below to find out what we are learning.

My ABC Bible Verses

The 3 & 4 year olds will be digging deeper in to God’s word through stories, art and scripture memorization.  We will use a wonderful book, My ABC Bible Verses, Hiding God’s Word in Little Hearts by Susan Hunt to help us learn more about the Bible so that we can know God better.

Children should be checked in to the toddler nursery and they will then go as a group to their classroom, Room 203, for this wonderful study.

Nursing Mom’s Room…

We also provide a quiet, private place for Mom’s to nurse their babies.  See the below information for more details on this special place.

Our nursery at St. Michaels is growing each day and we couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity to love and care for these future disciples.  Some of the exciting things that we have done in the nursery ministry lately is to fully train all of our nursery staff as well as provide them with Safeguarding God’s Children training.  We are so fortunate to have a wonderful nursery team that has a love and passion for our children as well as the Lord.  In addition to our staff training, we officially opened the Nursing Mom’s Room on May 16th.  This space is peaceful, private and filled with the love that we have for our nursing moms… please take a moment to check out this space, you may enter this area through the door at the back right side of the infant room.  As always, we truly appreciate all that you do to support our nursery ministries…we are so blessed by your families.

Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these. (Matthew 19:14)
