On July 15, the Kinloch Room was a lively place! You may have thought you were on a Lowcountry beach a half-century ago instead of a in a church parish hall, thanks to our decorations team of Amy Smith, her mother, Cameron Smith, Nicole Nicholson, Charlotte Nicholson, and Julia McElhinney, and countless others who donated bits and pieces to make this night so special! From delicious hot dogs and hamburgers to our famous root beer floats, the food was second to none! And of course the dancing was great too! Perhaps the highlight of the night was a our very own (the Rev.) Hamilton Smith who busted out some serious dance moves to an impromptu flash forward to Michael Jackson. In all seriousness, the youth of St. Michael’s are extremely grateful to those who came and all who helped in raising support for this summer’s mission trip to Boston. Special thanks to all who helped especially Normandy Updike – our professional shag instructor-, the entire Dorchester Mission Team for August (The Marion family, the Nicholson family, the Dougherty family, the Brown family, the Smith family, and the Hart family) without whom this wonderful event would not have happened!
