Currently 58% of all St. Michaelites give/tithe to St. Michael’s.  We are so very grateful to each of you who support and give to what I call this life saving ministry.

Our goal for 2011?  That we could increase that percentage to 70% of all St. Michaelites giving and working toward a tithe.

I love that old adage:  We don’t give to a need; we have a need to give.  That is absolutely Gospel Truth.  We give out of our relationship to Jesus Christ.

Sometimes however we can have the wrong impression.  It’s easy to think that my tithe doesn’t really count, or that St. Michael’s operates its ministry out of some large endowment.  Nothing could be further from the truth!

Here are some startling facts about the cost of ministry at St. Michael’s:

It costs around $5,000 a day to operate the ministries of St. Michael’s
$88,000 alone is for insurance
$67,000 alone is for utilities
$234,000 is given to ministries outside St. Michael’s
Operating money comes out of only 2 places:  your tithe and the money that comes in from the weekly offering plate… that’s it.  There are no other funds that operate the daily ministry of St. Michael’s Church!

So, if you have never tithed before, make this your year and be part of that 70%!  If you have always tithed, please know how grateful and how critically important your ministry is to this life saving station we call St. Michael’s.
