Kudos to Cyndee Cave & her Team for hosting an inspiring VBS at St. Michael’s this June!  On Monday, Cyndee enthusiastically included Operation Christmas Child (OCC) in VBS, having Susan Prescott & Duval Acker explain what OCC is, why it matters, and who receives the shoeboxes.

Children were encouraged to consider all that they’ve been given and that most children worldwide are not as fortunate.  Susan illustrated how much can be put into one shoebox, sharing lots of ideas with them!  Children came each day with new items to include in St. Michael’s shoeboxes so much so that we now have several boxes full of little goodies to stuff into shoeboxes for needy children everywhere!

We encourage all of St. Michaels to get involved with Operation Christmas Child and there are many ways to do this.  This month, July 9th-23rd, we are collecting clothing items such as: t-shirts, mittens/gloves, socks, caps, underwear and sleepwear for ages 2-5, 6-9 & 10-14. If you knit or crochet now is the time to get the needles clicking!  You can also start saving shoeboxes (both plastic and cardboard).

Mark your calendar for the afternoon of October 28th for our first annual church OCC Packing Party.  We are off to a good start with the wonderful help of our youngest church members!  Thank You VBS!
