This is my testimony of how God changed my life in 2001.
I can’t tell you much except that I tried to find purpose, security, and fulfillment apart from God. By doing that I sinned against God. A verse in the Bible says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” Basically, it is saying that what we have earned for our disobedience to God is death, or eternal separation from Him. This sin in my life has created a huge gap, or “grand canyon”, between God and me that I can never get across on my own. In fact all the good things I have tried to do have not brought me back across to God. They have all fallen short. There is nothing I can do to get back to God. At first I was very upset at this notion until I found out that God loved me while I was still sinful and He sent His son, Jesus, to earth for my sake. That is what the second part of that verse is talking about. “The gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Despite my sin, God is offering me a free gift of eternal life and this comes only through His son Jesus Christ. Jesus came down to earth and lived a perfect life and then died on a cross for my sins even though he was innocent. What had happened at that time is that in the spiritual realm, Jesus took my sinful record upon himself and I got his perfect, clean record. He paid the price I deserved to pay by dying on the cross. When he did that, God offered me a way to be restored back to Him. The Bible says that if I will repent (forsake, turn away from) of my sin and then trust in Jesus as my Lord. That means to surrender my life to him and give him complete control of my life. All of what I just said depends on who you think Jesus is for you. A famous author named C.S. Lewis, a former atheist, studied the claims of Jesus and later became a Christian. He realized that Jesus was either one of three things: 1) He was either a Liar, 2) a Lunatic, or 3) He really was Lord and all I just said was true. If that is the case then we would be fools not to investigate who Jesus is for each of us. I would challenge you to investigate and see if what I am saying is true.
What is my vision for this job?
To assist St. Michael’s Church, all departments and programs with appropriate information to make informed decisions in the allocation of God’s resources to promote long-term financial stability. I hope to develop this by providing friendly service, accurate, useful and to provide timely information to the congregation.
Once again, I am looking forward to serving for and with you.
