Why So Many Clergy at St. Michael’s?

I have heard some folks ask this question as of late and it is a great question!  While it appears we have a large number of clergy on the team, only 2.5 are full time.  With a congregation of nearly 2,000 members that’s not a lot, in fact it keeps us on our toes!  We have gone for a method of leadership that has our clergy team work in areas of specialties.  Let me give you a thumb nail sketch.

Rector (full time)

  • Overseer, keeping us on the road to our mission and vision
  • Leadership development
  • Preaching, Teaching and Pastoral Care

The Rev. Hamilton Smith (full time)

  • Life Groups
  • Oversees our area of transformation and the Gate (20-30’s Ministry)
  • Pastoral Care/ Teaching and Preaching

The Rev. Peter Moore (Full time September-May)

  • Beta area teaching
  • Men’s ministry
  • Pastoral Care/ Teaching and Preaching

The Rev. Charlie Baldwin (3/4 Time)

  • Pastoral Care
  • Healing ministry

The Rev. Ted McNabb (3/4 Time)

  • Assistant for all things having to do with worship including the Praise Band, worship logistics, schedules, training and recruitment

The Rev. Bishop Dickson (Volunteer)

  • Sunday help
  • Confirmation and Anglican Essentials

The Rev. Rob Dewey (Volunteer)

  • Sunday help and our connector to events that happen in the Holy City

The Rev. Doug Peterson (Volunteer)

  • Sunday and weekday services help
  • Healing ministry

From those who volunteer their time, to those who are here every day, it is a tremendous team!
