MINISTRY FOCUS
- Rev. Jonathan Furst is the Coalition for Christian Outreach (CCO) Campus Minister at Church of the Apostles (CotA) in Columbia, SC and leads an Anglican campus ministry at the University of South Carolina and other area schools.
- Their mission is to share the Gospel through low-barrier community activities (such as outdoor movie nights), learning opportunities (such as the Alpha course, catechumenate courses and campus bible Studies) and formational discipleship.
- The goal is to invite students to know Jesus Christ and to provide a church home for discipleship, as well as identifying and nurturing spiritual gifts.
- While the pandemic has greatly impacted the ministry’s typical face-to-face gatherings over the past year, a current focus is to organize a summer intensive opportunity for students to study biblical topics and/or Christian living in a retreat setting.
- St. Michael’s has provided grant support to CCO Carolina for the past two years
