Forgiving the Inexcusable
Preacher: The Rev. Alfred T.K. Zadig, Jr. Series: Matthew Scripture: Matthew 18:21–35, Ephesians 4:25– 5:2
Why is forgiveness so difficult? C-S Lewis not only said: “To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you”, but also said “We all think forgiveness is a lovely idea until we have something to forgive!” Today we come to Peter talking to Jesus about this topic of forgiveness. Jesus responds (as He often does) with a parable to answer the question of forgiveness. Today I invite you into this parable of the “Unforgiving Debtor.” Yes, put yourself into the center of it and you will never look at forgiveness the same way again.
