Paul Reese is inspired by St Paul’s instruction to “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly…singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs…” His vision for the music ministry at St Michael’s is that prayer, praise, encouragement and admonition through song would be part of the daily life of each St Michaelite.
Paul Reese came to St. Michael’s as Director of Music and Organist in 2021. He has previously held church music positions in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and the greater Philadelphia area, and taught full time in classical Christian schools. He has a Master of Music in Organ Performance from Westminster Choir College, and Baccalaureates in Organ and Bible from Philadelphia Biblical University. Not only an organist, he has also regularly performed as a violinist and as a baritone. As someone with a lifelong passion for church music, Paul believes church music is a participatory activity in which all of God’s people are invited to join in and sing!
In addition to ministry and musical endeavors, Paul is thrilled to be married to his wife Trisha, and together they have a son, Paul Frederick. Paul enjoys a good novel, building things, and spending time outside. He cannot imagine a better job than working in a church which seeks to exalt Christ each and every day.
