We Can’t Love Without Giving

June 28, 2021 Preacher: The Rev. Alfred T. K. Zadig Jr

Come with me today to Macedonia.  Macedonia is in Southeastern Europe, bordering Bulgaria to the east, Greece to the south, Serbia and Kosovo to the north, and Albania to the west.  Paul went to this region during his third missionary journey.  Macedonia then was a poor region containing  churches in Philippi, Thessalonica and Berea.  As Paul went to each church, what he found was that they had a love of the Lord that eclipsed their poverty.  So much so that when Paul took up offerings for the impoverished believers in Jerusalem, they out of love gave so much more than Paul could ever have expected!  The poor in Macedonia loved the Lord so much they gave to support the Jerusalem church 1500 miles away!

Why?  Paul discovered one of the most powerful principles of life:  We can’t love, without giving.  Stay tuned.
