Heavenly Bread and Earthly Hunger

February 13, 2022 Series: I Am - the Gospel of John

Scripture: John 6:28–35, John 6:41–51

We take the sacrament of holy communion, also known as the holy eucharist (greek for “to give thanks”) nearly every Sunday. But what does it mean? Where did it come from? This week we look at Jesus’ preaching in John 6, one of the bedrock passages on communion! As Jesus explains how he satisfies our needs and desires, while also changing them, we are able to see both Christ’s work, and its representation at the communion table, in a new and greater light.
