“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem,
and in all Judea and in Samaria, and to the farthest parts of the earth.” Acts 1:8
St. Michael’s has embraced Jesus’ charge to the church (Acts 1:8) to be active witnesses as one of the primary pillars of the church’s efforts at home and abroad. Accordingly, we emphasize mission ministries that are dedicated to “reaching out” to those who don’t know Jesus as their Savior or who need help in furthering their faith.
St. Michael’s Mission Task Force (MTF) is a volunteer team to promote, coordinate, and direct congregational involvement in mission ministries across three areas: The Holy City focused on local missions in the Charleston area, the Hurting Coast focused on U.S. missions (primarily east coast), and the Hungering World focused on missions around the world. We maintain active mission partnerships in each of these three areas and provide many ways for St. Michael’s members to be engaged in mission throughout the year.

- Church of the Resurrection (REZ Church), Washington, DC. September 6-12, 2022.
A team of St. Michaelites will travel Sept. 6 to Washington DC to help our mission partners at Church of the Resurrection on Capital Hill to clean, clear and update meeting and office spaces in their old historic church building. We’ll stay with parishioners there as well as attend their services and share meals together. It will be a transformational time for getting to know their congregation a bit better and learning how our parishioners can help in spreading the truth and good news of Christ deeper into the heartbeat of Washington DC.
