What Jesus Wants

As we continue our deep dive into the Gospel of Matthew, we come to a fascinating conversation between Jesus and a rich young ruler, in fact we get to be a fly on the wall to overhear their conversation.  Yet the implication of this conversation contains a powerful challenge to us.  In the words of the Rev. Dr. Tim Keller:  “Anything you have decided will give you life, joy and power without God will become your monster.”  The rich young ruler learns this the hard way.  Today, we have the opportunity to do what the rich young ruler couldn’t… give our highest joys and passions to the Lord, and invite Him to remake those passions and joys into His image.
